We Remember The Asaba Massacre of October 07,1967

It has been 50 years since the innocent lives of our loved ones were cut down in cold blood by the advancing Federal Troops.

You were mandated to troop out to receive goodwill messages from the Federal Troops only to be herded into  the Ogbe Osowa square to meet your unsuspecting and untimely death!

As the machine gun trotting soldiers surrounded by you, it became clear that this was a disingenuous invite. You had no single chance of escaping as you fell one after the other, murdered in cold blood.

YES IT WAS A MASSACRE!!! YOU WERE UNARMED CIVILIANS THAT WERE NOT INVOLVED IN THE WAR.

We remember and honor you this day as we have done in the past 50 years. Your memories would forever remain green in our hearts. May  your gentle souls rest in perfect peace!

We are comforted by the fact that the whole world is now reading, understanding, and qualifying your death as a MASSACRE of the innocent. We hope that justice will prevail.

Adieu, Adieu, Adieu, until we meet to part no more in God’s Kingdom.
